چکیده:
Emotional intelligence is the ability to assess, express, and regulate one's own emotions and those of others, and to use them effectively. Today, in the field of management issues, relying solely on individual abilities is an obsolete method; organizational productivity depends on teamwork. Utilizing individuals' abilities toward organizational goals is only possible if managers understand their own capabilities, pay attention to the emotions and feelings of others in interpersonal communications, and behave accordingly. The aim of the present research is to examine the role of emotional intelligence in the competence and managerial effectiveness of security managers. The main variables of this research were emotional intelligence and managerial effectiveness, and to measure them, the Cameron emotional intelligence questionnaire and effective management skills were used. The statistical population of the research consisted of senior managers of the country's security organizations, and the research sample included 32 of the aforementioned managers. The components of emotional intelligence in this research were: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. The Pearson correlation coefficient between each of these components and the management effectiveness variable was extracted, and the results showed that there is a significant direct relationship between each of the emotional intelligence components and the effectiveness variable of managers in security organizations. Accordingly, it is expected that managers who possess higher emotional intelligence will also have higher effectiveness in management. This can be taken into account in selecting competent managers in security organizations.
