چکیده:
This study intended to investigate the relationship between sense of coherence and job performance with mediating strategies of coping with stress and general health. This is an applied and correlational research with random sampling method, sense of coherence scale (2006), Paterson Job Performance Scale (1922). Blingz’s Coping with Stress Scale (1981) and Goldberg’s Mental Health (1979) questionnaires were distributed. The research participants were 349 employees of Islamic Azad University Ahvaz Branch during 2010. Path analysis was utilized to analyze the data. investigating the relationship between sense of coherence and job performance with mediating strategies of coping with stress and mental health indicated that sense of coherence not only directly linked job performance, but it also indicated sense of coherence linked job performance by emotion-center coping strategy, problem-center coping strategy and general health. Sense of coherence can be influenced by impressments on strategies of coping with stress (emotion-center and problem-center coping strategies) and general health.
خلاصه ماشینی:
The results indicated that sense of coherence is related to job performance both through emotion-focused and problem-focused coping strategies and general health, and also directly.
Of course, it is important to note that sense of coherence does not call upon a specific coping strategy, 1 Wille 2 De Fruyt 3 Feys 4 Berry 5 Kim 6 Wang 7 Thompson 8 Mobley 9 Sense of coherence(SOC) 10 Antonovsky 11 Savolainen 12 Tomotsune rather, it provides the ability to choose an appropriate coping strategy for each stressor encountered in life (Tomatson 1, Sasahara 2, Umeda 3, Hayashi 4, Usami, 5 Yoshino 6, Kageyama 7, Nakamura 8, Matsuzaki 9, 2009); therefore, it is reasonable that sense of coherence has a positive correlation with various strategies.
Results Descriptive statistics indicators (mean and standard deviation) and the correlation of the studied variables (sense of coherence, general health, coping strategies, and job performance) are presented in the table.
Paterson In order to examine the research question based on whether the sense of coherence can be related to job performance through the use of coping strategies and general health, the desired pattern was tested using the path analysis method.
Given previous studies and the relationship of variables in the present research, path analysis was used to examine the research question: can sense of coherence be related to job performance through the formation of coping strategies and general health?
The findings of the present research showed that sense of coherence is related to job performance both through emotion-focused and problem-focused coping strategies and general health, and directly.
