چکیده:
The purpose of this study is to estimate willingness to pay for coastal tourism and examine the effective factors involved. The research questions of this study include: a) Are the coastal tourists willing to pay? b) What are the effective factors for their willingness to pay? To answer these questions, 1100 questionnaires were distributed among coastal tourists across the beach lines of Mazandaran Province, Iran, in 2010. Willingness to pay was estimated by Contingent Valuation Method, and the factors influencing willingness were examined by Logit Model. The results showed that the average amount each tourist willing to pay was 3188 rials, and the yearly recreational value of the beaches was about 32 billion rials. The results also showed that income, previous experience of payment, and education level had a significant effect on coastal tourist's willingness to pay.

Measurement and factors affecting the willingness to pay of coastal tourists using the Contingent Valuation Method: A case study for Caspian Sea coasts * Saeed Rasakhi ** Saeed Karimi *** Monireh Hamidi Rostami Date received: 2012/05/10 Date accepted: 2012/08/05 Abstract The aim of the present research is to estimate the willingness to pay of coastal tourists and to investigate the factors affecting it.
Furthermore, the results of the present article show that income, payment history, and education level have a significant effect on the willingness to pay of coastal tourists.
2 (2008), in a study in Eastern Ireland, estimated the average willingness to pay for recreational use of farms in Upland 3 and Lowland 4 areas using the contingent 3 valuation method.
(2004) estimated the recreational and leisure value of Si Sangan Park in Nowshahr using individuals' willingness to pay and by employing the contingent valuation method and a double-bounded dichotomy questionnaire.
In the value- 3-Despite this and based on the estimates of the authors of this article, due to the selection of an appropriate time for the field study and the reduction of bias resulting from destination choice, the results obtained from estimating the recreational value of the Caspian Sea coasts, as well as the factors affecting willingness to pay in the travel cost method, did not have a significant difference with the contingent valuation method.
Table (7) presents the results of the Logit model estimation, the factors affecting the willingness to pay of coastal tourists in the year 1389.
