چکیده:
The present research has been organized with the aim of recognizing the current state of specialized dictionaries in political science and international relations, better understanding the status of these dictionaries, and identifying the diversity, frequency, damages, and existing gaps in this field. In this article, using the content analysis method, more than 100 specialized dictionaries—including descriptive, bilingual, political-journalistic dictionaries, and encyclopedias available in the field of political science and international relations—have been examined and pathologized. Some of the research results show that the most important damages to specialized lexicography of political science and international relations in Iran include: the application of political biases in lexicography, the explanation of political terms in the service of parties and propaganda, inaccuracies regarding transliterations, the lack of involvement of political science and international relations professors in lexicographical work, unfamiliarity with cultural symbols of various fields of political science in both source and target languages, lack of familiarity with modern techniques and methods of lexicography, lack of specialized work by publishing institutions in the field of political science, absence of teamwork in lexicography, and failure to observe international standards alongside localization. Finally, while summarizing and concluding, solutions for strengthening specialized lexicography of political science and international relations in Iran have been provided.
