چکیده:
The aim of the present research is to investigate and determine the degree of compliance of Persian abstracts of scientific-research journal articles in the field of humanities with the elements included in the ISO 214 standard. The research method is descriptive. Due to the diversity of abstracts in this field, abstracts were divided into two general categories: 1. Informative abstracts 2. Indicative abstracts. Two lists extracted from the elements included in the ISO 214 standard were selected as research tools for the two existing types of abstracts. The research population includes 270 Persian abstracts from the latest period of available scientific-research journals in the field of humanities that had successfully obtained scientific-research ranking from the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology before the year 1383. This sample size was selected using a random method. The findings showed that 37.60% of the abstracts in the research population are informative abstracts and 63.39% of them are indicative abstracts; also, the findings showed that the average percentage of compliance of informative abstracts with the elements extracted from the ISO 214 standard is 14.83% and the average percentage of compliance of indicative abstracts with the aforementioned elements is 70.78%. Subsequently, the information of the pattern provided for writing an abstract in the 'Authors' Guide' section of each journal was examined. The results of the research showed: 1. Abstracts in the field of humanities are mostly of the informative type 2. In the field of humanities, informative abstracts comply more with the ISO 214 standard than indicative abstracts 3. The information provided in the journal's pattern for writing an abstract reflects limited elements of the ISO 214 standard.

The present research has also, using the survey research method, examined the status and conditions of a number of Persian abstracts of full-text scientific journal articles in the field of humanities based on the criteria mentioned in the "ISO 214" standard.
'Mokhtari' (1383), in his thesis research titled 'The degree of compliance of journal article abstracts of medical science universities with the "Vancouver Group" guidelines and the "ISO 214" standard,' addressed the description and analysis of the compliance level by preparing two separate drafts.
In the population of informative abstracts in this field, the journal "Islamic Studies, Faculty of Theology, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad" had the lowest compliance rate with the selected elements of the ISO 214 standard at 72.
