A Night Better Than a Thousand Months Abulqasim Shakir Scientific Staff of the Islamic Research Institute Abstract Keywords: Introduction Humanity, misled and fallen into the trap of Satan and carnal desires, has become entangled in dark veils and has lost the opportunity to perceive the days of Allah and the magnificent nights such as Laylat al-Qadr, which is equal to a thousand months, thereby depriving itself of the most beautiful divine blessings and spiritual breaths. Regarding the manner of the revelation of the Quran, it has also been said that there are two revelations: sudden and gradual; and Laylat al-Qadr is the night of the sudden revelation of the Quran upon the blessed heart of the Great Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny), while its gradual revelation lasted for 23 years. Of course, the quality and nature of the revelation of the Quran in the holy month of Ramadan and Laylat al-Qadr upon the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) is not clear to us; as Imam Khomeini (may his soul be sanctified) says regarding this: In the holy month of Ramadan, an event occurred whose dimensions and nature remain in ambiguity forever for people like us, and that is the revelation of the Quran. And on the other hand, God says "انزَلْنَاهُ فِی لَیْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ" (We sent it down in the Night of Decree); what is the quality of this revelation of the Quran upon the heart of the Prophet during Laylat al-Qadr?
