Each of America's racial minorities possesses one or more pressure groups. These groups, in proportion to their demographic share, economic power, media influence, and organizational cohesion, have a base and influence that enables them to affect Washington. The most powerful influential racial group is the American Jewish lobby. Israel has many lobbies in American society, but the organization that plays the role of coordinating these entities with American politicians and statesmen, and whose name has become synonymous with the Israel lobby, is AIPAC or the 'American Israel Public Affairs Committee'. They have infiltrated all institutions and organizations. The power and influence of the Israel lobby have caused many aspirants to Congress or the White House to seek the support of the Israel lobby. Furthermore, the American Jewish community and the Israel lobby are structured in such a way that they play the most effective role in US foreign policy. They, with the help of Jewish members of Congress and senators, put the State Department and the White House under pressure to establish very close relations with Israel and, at the same time, put countries opposing Israel in the region, such as the Islamic Republic of Iran, under pressure.
