چکیده:
This research investigated the extent to which the curriculum of general courses in higher education has been achieved. The method of this research is descriptive-survey, and its statistical population consists of all final-year undergraduate students (1638 people) and faculty members (79 people) of the relevant educational groups at Shahid Beheshti University. The sample size was selected based on Morgan's table, the sampling method was stratified random, and the data collection tool was a closed-ended questionnaire. The main question of this research was: 'To what extent have the goals of the general higher education curriculum been achieved from the perspective of students and faculty members of Shahid Beheshti University?'. Accordingly, the goals specified in relation to university general courses were designed in the form of 18 questions, and the extent of achieving these goals was measured. The result obtained showed that from the perspective of students and professors at Shahid Beheshti University, none of the university general courses – except for the Family Planning course – were able to achieve their intended goals. Of course, in the current situation, the relative achievement level of the goals of general courses varied among them, and a priority table for them was also extracted. Additionally, there was a significant difference between the views of students from different faculties regarding the extent of achieving the goals of university general courses; however, there was no significant difference between the views of male and female students, nor between the views of students and faculty members in this regard.
