خلاصه ماشینی:
Scholars and people of معرفت consider prayer, like other acts of worship, to have a body whose members are standing, bowing, prostrating, and the dhikr (remembrances) that flow from the tongue, and its soul is the remembrance of God, which is called "presence of heart.
" Presence of heart means that the heart is present and pays attention to God and the words being spoken; in other words, from the beginning to the end of the prayer, the worshiper truly sees themselves in the presence of God and does not entrust their heart—which is His domain—to anyone but Him. Therefore, prayer without presence of heart is separated from its true essence and lacks a celestial soul, and it is deprived of the inward fruits and benefits mentioned in the narrations for prayer; as Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) says: انّ العبد لیرفع له من صلاته نصفها أو ثلثها أو ربعها أو خمسها فما یرفع له إلاّ ما أقبل علیه بقلبه.
13 Apparently, it is with this concept in mind that Imam Khomeini (may his secret be sanctified) says regarding the training of the faculty of imagination: The faculty of (imagination) is like a bird, extremely elusive and infinitely mobile, moving from branch to branch and from one thing to another, such that if a person keeps track of them for even one minute, they see that several successive transitions with very weak and abnormal proportions have occurred; even many people believe that preserving the bird of imagination and taming it is beyond the realm of possibility and belongs to the impossible things of nature.
