چکیده:
The purpose of this research was to anticipate mental health and performance job based on personality characteristic of elementary school’s teachers. Method: the sample of the study was 170 elementary teachers school. Data via 3 questionnaires contain mental health (GHQ), Paterson’s job’s performance and Neo personality characteristic collected and analyzed. Results: The result of statistical analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between mental health and teacher’s performance and personality character. Analyzing data via multiple regression revealed that extroversion, neuroticism and conscientiousness could predict mental health and job performance. Conclusion: Meanwhile necessity of attention to personality characteristic especial in teachers for improves teaching is important.
خلاصه ماشینی:
The results of the statistical analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between mental health and job performance with the personality traits of teachers.
Stepwise regression analysis showed that among the dimensions of personality traits, "extraversion," "neuroticism," and "conscientiousness," mental health is predicted by extraversion and neuroticism, and job performance is predicted by extraversion and neuroticism.
Given the role of students' academic performance as a criterion for assessing adjustment and mental health, Chamorro – Premuzic & Furnham 3 (2003) showed that there is a significant relationship with their personality traits, and personality traits explain 10 to 27 percent of the variance in academic performance.
Similarly, in a meta-analysis conducted by Deneve & Cooper 4 (1998), the results showed that extraversion and neuroticism are the best predictors of mental health, and conscientiousness has a positive and strong relationship with mental health.
Method This research was of the correlational type, in which the relationship between the variables of mental health, job performance, and personality traits were studied.
Table 1- Mean and standard deviation of the components of personality traits, mental health, and job performance (Refer to page image) The highest level in the personality dimensions relates to the conscientiousness dimension, and the lowest relates to the neuroticism dimension.
(Refer to page image) Based on the table above, most relationships are significant; therefore, multiple regression analysis was used to predict mental health and job performance based on personality traits.
