چکیده:
The aim of this study is to investigate the validity and reliability of the short form of the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS). In this regard, after obtaining permission from the creator of this scale, the questions and content of this scale were translated. After translation, this scale was administered to 638 people (330 girls and 308 boys) from Shiraz University and Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. After the completion of this scale by the sample group, the content of the scale was subjected to factor analysis using two methods: Principal Components (PC) and Maximum Likelihood (ML), the results of which extracted three factors: stress, depression, and anxiety. Regarding the investigation of convergent and divergent validity of the scale in question, two scales, the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) and the Multidimensional Health Questionnaire (MHQ), were used. The results of the study on the reliability of this scale through test-retest also indicated the reliability of the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale. Additionally, the alpha coefficient was calculated for each individual factor in this scale. The sum of the results obtained from this investigation indicates the adequacy of this scale for use in Iran.
خلاصه ماشینی:
2. General Health Questionnaire25 (QHG): This scale consists of 4 factors, which are: somatic symptoms26, anxiety and insomnia27, role difficulties in social functioning28, and severe depression29.
The reliability coefficient of this questionnaire using the retest method for use in Iran has been calculated by Riazi (1377), which for the factors of somatic symptoms, anxiety and insomnia, role difficulties in social functioning, and severe depression were respectively equal to 0.
In this research, two questionnaires, General Health Questionnaire (QHG) and Mental Health Questionnaire (QHM), were used to investigate the validity of the Scale of Depression, Anxiety, and Psychological Stress (SSAD).
3. Factor Analysis After the completion of the scale by the participants in the study, the data obtained from the short form of the Scale of Depression, Anxiety, and Psychological Stress (SSAD) were subjected to factor analysis using the Principal Component Method33.
Additionally, the correlation coefficients of the psychological stress, depression, and anxiety factors with the total score of the scale were 0.
In investigating the validity of the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (SSAD), in addition to the factor analysis method explained in the previous section, the General Health Questionnaire (QHG) and the Mental Health Questionnaire (QHM) were used.
The correlation of the SSAD scale factors (depression, anxiety, and psychological stress) with the factors present in the QHM and QHG questionnaires is presented in Tables 2 and 3.
