چکیده:
The subject of the present article is measuring the attitude of women in Gonbad Kavus County toward political participation, the level of this participation, and the factors affecting it. The statistical population of this study includes women in the aforementioned county in the age group of 15–59 years, and a sample of 251 people was selected, categorized into urban and rural areas, and data were collected using the face-to-face survey method. The findings show that the majority of the studied women have a positive attitude toward political participation, especially regarding holding positions or political elite status. In this regard, the level of education plays a fundamental role, while place of residence, age, mother's occupation, and ethnicity follow in subsequent ranks. Path analysis coefficients show that literacy, influenced by age and place of residence, is the most suitable predictor of the variable of women's political participation attitude.
خلاصه ماشینی:
It seems that the aforementioned approaches alone do not have the ability to explain this phenomenon, but all these views can agree on one point: if women do not have sufficient facilities for political participation, or if civil institutions do not have the capacity to accept women, or if there is a negative attitude toward women's presence, or if the necessary motivations for presence in political arenas have not formed in women, this is the product of the cultural, social, and political atmosphere of the society, which, through the mechanism of the socialization process of its members, has led to the formation of a specific set of beliefs and attitudes.
Therefore, in fact, political socialization is a process through which individuals in a specific society become familiar with the political system, and to a significant extent, their perception of politics and their reactions to political phenomena are determined (Chaboki, 2002: 126), and the pattern of attitudes and individual orientations toward politics among the members of a political system takes shape in the form of a political culture (Rush, 2002: 105), and its achievements can include: 1- Acquisition of political orientation (Easton and Dennis, 1969); 2- Learning values, attitudes, and behaviors (Hess and Torney, 1967); 3- Acquisition of desirable and acceptable political norms and behaviors of the political system (Siegel, 1965); and 4- Maturity political maturity of citizens (Rawson and Probit, 1969) was mentioned (Sharepour, 2001: 367).
