After stating the importance and necessity of studying, recording, and documenting indigenous and traditional games and performances, this article addresses Varza Jang in Gilan province. It appears that in proportion to technological advancements, traditional games and performances play a smaller role in daily life. This article examines the historical background of bullfighting, the types of famous Varzas, the connection between Varza Jang and social institutions, as well as Varza Jang in the mirror of beliefs, folklore, and oral traditions. This research has benefited from ethnographic methods (participant observation, interview, documentary study, etc.).

If the fighting Varza is less than three years old, no reward is granted to it after victory in the arena, and its owner does not collect any donation.
