چکیده:
The 33-day war and Lebanese Hezbollah’s resistance to the all-out Israeli army’s invasion is viewed as a turning point in the Middle East regional developments and events. This paper addresses the positions adopted by various regional countries as well as organizations such as the Arab League towards the Israeli attacks. This study demonstrates that apart from the Iranian and Syrian proactive stances، the other countries either got along with Israel or acted passively. As a result، the statements and meetings held by these countries were merely superficial and even they did not agree to recognize Hezbollah’s resistance in defense of Lebanon. Such a study clearly reveals the reason for the continued presence of Israel، that is dependence and conservatism of the Arab governments.
خلاصه ماشینی:
Wednesday, July 12, 2006, is a memorable day in the history of the Arab nation; because this day witnessed the operation "True Promise" (Al-Wa'd al-Sadiq) by Hezbollah; an operation that the Zionist regime used as a pretext to fuel a new aggressive war against Lebanon, and Hezbollah entered it in defense of the homeland and the right of Lebanese prisoners to return to their own country.
While describing the official position of Arab countries, Nasrallah briefly said in an interview with Al Jazeera: "The United Nations presented a statement to Israel for the destruction of the Lebanese resistance, and then some Arabs, under the cover of Israel, encouraged the continuation of the aggression against Lebanon.
The Hamas government and movement immediately congratulated Hezbollah's operation and issued a statement in this regard, which stated: "Hamas presents its best congratulations and greetings for the success of the Islamic resistance in Lebanon in capturing two Zionist soldiers and killing a number of others to the beneficiaries of Hezbollah, headed by Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General, and also to all the resistance forces; congratulations for the successful operation that confronted the political and military leaders of the occupying regime with defeat.
Furthermore, Hezbollah's operation reduced international pressure on Hamas and the criticism from Arab countries due to the capture of a Zionist soldier, and essentially directed Israel's military operations toward the resistance in Lebanon; this is what Hamas interpreted in its statement as "military, political, and moral support.
