چکیده:
In this research, the relationship between the variables of happiness, self-actualization, mental health, and academic performance with sexual dualism in graduate students of the Science and Research Unit, Ahvaz Center was investigated. The research method is correlational. To achieve the research objectives, 373 graduate students (185 boys and 188 girls) from the Science and Research Unit, Ahvaz Center were selected using a simple random method. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the data. Based on the results obtained, significant relationships were found between the variables of happiness and sexual dualism, happiness and self-actualization, happiness and mental health, and self-actualization and mental health (p < 0.001). However, no significant relationship was observed between academic performance and sexual dualism, happiness and academic performance, self-actualization and academic performance, or mental health and academic performance (p < 0.001). Furthermore, the relationships between variables were examined according to gender separation; based on the results, no significant relationship was observed between happiness and sexual dualism in male students (p < 0.001). However, a significant relationship was observed between happiness and sexual dualism in females (p < 0.001). Additionally, no significant relationships were observed between mental health and sexual dualism, self-actualization and sexual dualism, or academic performance and sexual dualism in females and males separately (p < 0.001). On the other hand, no significant relationship was observed between happiness and self-actualization, happiness and mental health, or self-actualization and mental health in both females and males (p < 0.001). Moreover, no significant relationship was observed between happiness and academic performance, self-actualization and academic performance, or mental health and academic performance in both females and males (p < 0.001).
خلاصه ماشینی:
Additionally, no significant relationships were observed between mental health and sexual ambivalence, self-actualization and sexual ambivalence, or academic performance and sexual ambivalence in females and males when separated by gender (P < 0.
But no significant relationships were observed between happiness and academic performance, self-actualization and academic performance, or mental health and academic performance in both females and males (P < 0.
Since Sandra Bem (1974) introduced the psychological androgyny type in relation to individuals who are distinct from other gender types and possess better mental health and personality perfection, and subsequently a scale for identifying and (1)- (Interests) (2)- (Activities) (3)- (Style of life) (4)- (Self-actualizer) (5)- (Maslow) identifying these personalities, Bem and other researchers conducted many studies in relation to their characteristics.
The purpose of the present research is to examine the relationship between the variables of androgyny, mental health, academic performance, and self-actualization; therefore, in view of this goal, the research hypotheses are: First hypothesis: There is a significant relationship between happiness and androgyny in female and male students.
Eighth hypothesis: There is a significant relationship between self-actualization and mental health in female and male students.
Ninth hypothesis: There is a significant relationship between self-actualization and academic performance in female and male students.
Tenth hypothesis: There is a significant relationship between mental health and academic performance in female and male students.
Table 3- Correlation coefficients between mental health and gender duality of students (Refer to the page image) The results obtained in relation to this hypothesis in Table 3 show that there is a significant positive relationship between mental health and gender duality in all students (r = 0.
