چکیده:
The application of various new literary criticism methods has received less attention in Persian literature texts, while these texts provide a suitable opportunity for examining theories and finding new ways to interpret literary language. One of the methods of criticism is the use of semiotics. Charles Peirce, who is considered one of the founders of semiotics, divided signs into three types: - Symbolic: The relationship between the signifier and the signified is arbitrary. - Iconic: The relationship between the signifier and the signified is based on similarity. - Indexical: The relationship between the signifier and the signified is causal. Rumi's works, given their semantic breadth, have the capacity to be examined from various perspectives. The application of Peirce's semiotic pattern in Rumi's language, in addition to helping to understand this theory and how to use it in different texts, can be useful in analyzing and interpreting the words and thoughts of this great poet and mystic.

Investigating Peirce's Semiotic Model in Rumi's Mystical Language Dr. Seyed Ali Asghar Mirbagheri Fard* Zohreh Najafi 1 University of Isfahan Abstract The application of various new literary criticism methods in Persian literature texts has received less attention, while these texts provide a suitable opportunity for examining theories and finding new ways in interpreting literary language.
Charles Peirce, who is considered one of the founders of semiotics, divided signs into three types: - Symbolic: The relationship between the signifier and the signified is arbitrary.
The application of Peirce's semiotic model in Rumi's language, besides helping in understanding this theory and how to use it in different texts, can be useful in analyzing and interpreting the words and thoughts of this great poet and mystic.
For example, In Rumi's language, one can consider the rhythmic and stirring meters of the Ghazals of Shams, the unusual number of verses in a ghazal, the fluidity or change of the reference of the first-person and second-person pronouns throughout a ghazal, coherence and continuity, the style of narration, imagery, and cases of this kind, which are revealed in the poet's performance style, as para-linguistic signs.
For example, tawakkul is one of the important mystical terms and can be considered a symbolic sign that has been used in most mystical texts; however, its interpretation is different for mystics.
Peirce's model, in addition to paying attention to the relationship between the signifier and the signified, is a way to understand the indications and experiences expressed in mystical texts through the use of the element of interpretation.
