Boustan-e Adab Journal Second Period, Second Issue, Summer 2019, Serial No. 85/1 (Formerly the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities) The Role of Insha (Compositional Speech) in Mystical Language (An Investigation and Analysis of the Role of Insha in the Persian Works of Ayn al-Quzat Hamadani) Dr. Seyed Ali Asghar Mir Baqeri Fard* Masoumeh Mohammadi** University of Isfahan Abstract Mystics, in expressing their thoughts and conveying their meanings and states, use a language they call mystical language.
Example: "کاشکی چون نمیدانم یک بارگی نادانی شدمی تا از خود خلاصی یافتمی!" (Ibid, 891) With attention to the examination of the function of wish in the works of Ayn al-Quzat, it can be said: wish-based sentences in these texts are used to express the greatness of the subject and the emergence of the mystic's (Ayn al-Quzat) emotions to be used, and since expressing emotions is not reasonable except by assuming an audience that can be influenced, one of the Qadi's other goals in employing wish can be considered to be strengthening the connection between the audience and the speaker.
The number of imperative sentences intended for guidance in the Persian texts of Ayn al-Quzat is high, and those used with a secondary meaning often emphasize the presence of the audience; for example, reproach, threat, contempt, wish, etc.
Therefore, the true meaning of imperative sentences, aided by their high frequency in the Persian works of Ayn al-Quzat, plays an effective role in teaching and expressing subject matter.
