While teaching Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, the author encountered some ambiguous verses and incomprehensible words that have not been correctly etymologized or defined. This led to a fresh look and more careful examination of the verses and words of this important work. The result of this investigation is that in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, which is a very rich and fruitful treasure of the Persian language, there are words from various local dialects that, in most general and specialized cultures of the Shahnameh, have neither been accurately etymologized nor given a correct meaning consistent with the concept of the verse, causing ambiguity and difficulty in understanding some verses. Therefore, in this research, an attempt has been made to etymologize and correctly define some local words related to the Luri dialect of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad region used in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, in accordance with the meaning of the difficult and obscure verses; because the author strongly believes that among the various dialects of Iran, the Luri dialect of the mentioned region has a very close relationship and connection with Middle Persian and modern Persian. Part of this connection is shown in the present article. Perhaps it is under the shadow of this connection between the Luri dialect and the language of the Shahnameh that this great work, after the Holy Quran, has held a unique base and position among the Lur ethnic groups, especially the Lur people of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad region.

2. In Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, words from the Luri dialect of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad region have been used due to the deep continuity it has with the Persian language.
First, Ferdowsi's Shahnameh was carefully studied several times, and words that appeared to the author (who is of Lur descent) to be part of the Luri dialect of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad region were extracted and examined in terms of etymology and the discovery of the correct meaning appropriate to the verses.
