چکیده:
Thinking about the few days of life's deadline has long been a concern for humanity. Iranian thinkers, too, have spoken about the secret of life for many centuries. Saib Tabrizi, the content-oriented poet of the 11th century AH, was not unaware of this pure theme and has explored the nature of human life from various angles. In this article, we first enumerate in ten stanzas the factors that, from Saib's perspective, can cause a long life. Then, we summarize in twelve stanzas what, in his view, can cause the shortness of human life. The other part of this article is formed by examining what human life is compared to in Saib's ghazals and his imagery, and what benefits the poet has derived from each metaphor. Furthermore, Saib's critical and satirical view of the desire for a long life—which is embodied in Hazrat Khidr (AS)—leads him to contemplate the consequences of longevity and provides the reader with the awareness that one should pay more attention to the breadth of life rather than its length.

7. Kindness and benevolence toward others What, according to Saib, causes joy and consequently, encouragement for life, is helping others and making them happy by rolling up the sleeves of endeavor: Extend a helping hand, for Khidr's long life Was a short duration from the register of morning benevolence (Ibid, 9123) A short life becomes lasting through helping others; In the tapestry of life, Khidr's remained eternal because of it (Ibid, 0121) Of course, this benevolence and helping hand vary according to the abilities of individuals; making others happy, even if it is only as much as a smile, carries the necessary result in the poet's view: One makes the meager existence of life a thousand, By smiling upon the burnt ones, like sparks It is evident that modern psychology, based on the direct impact of satisfying others on an individual's own satisfaction and psychological peace, has taken note of this.
