چکیده:
Ambivalence and neuroticism are two variables that influence women's quality of life. Research results show that the quality of life of infertile women is lower compared to fertile women, and they experience more psychological problems. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between ambivalence and neuroticism with the quality of life of infertile and fertile women in Tehran; the research sample consists of 12 infertile and fertile women (06 individuals in each group), selected from women visiting two hospitals in Tehran. For data collection, the NEO Personality Inventory short form, the Gender Role Questionnaire, and the Quality of Life Questionnaire were used. Pearson correlation coefficient showed that there is a positive relationship between ambivalence and the quality of life of infertile women (0.34 vs 0.03), and a negative relationship between neuroticism and the quality of life of infertile and fertile women (-0.55 vs -0.32). Multivariate regression results showed that 75 percent of the variance in the quality of life in infertile women is explained by the variables of ambivalence and neuroticism, whereas this amount in fertile women is about 30 percent. The results of this research, which largely aligns with other research findings, indicate that high levels of ambivalence and low levels of neuroticism lead to an increase in the quality of life level of infertile women.
