The eight-year Holy Defense of the Iranian nation possesses a dignity and status that must hold an appropriate position in the country's culture and history. Understanding this lofty position and making it lasting for future generations is the heavy mission of contemporary literature. The literature of the Holy Defense is a mirror of the national and religious identity of Iranians. For this reason, all experts agree that including works of the Holy Defense in textbooks is essential, as these books are one of the primary tools in the country's educational system, which undoubtedly has one of the most fundamental and important functions of education: socialization and the internalization of social values. However, the amount of existing content does not meet the aforementioned goals, and the quality of the included works is neither desirable nor sufficient to achieve the purpose. After examining the elementary, middle, high school, and pre-university levels, clear answers to two specific questions emerge, resulting in a felt need for qualitative and quantitative revision (in terms of statistics, figures, and brief analyses), and a proposal for the revision of textbooks is presented. Of course, the method of conveying and including the concepts of the Holy Defense in textbooks is worthy of reflection, as the subject of the Holy Defense, like other subjects, requires an artistic expression so that it can be transmitted to future generations through the realities of the Holy Defense.
