In the depths of Rumi's thoughts, beliefs, and sayings in the Masnavi, there exists a type of devotion and love for the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (AS), and the family of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Adorning speech with the gems of the Master's words and quoting a significant number of that Imam's sayings is not merely for citation and evidence or to demonstrate knowledge and virtue; rather, all this veneration and praise, in the form of stories and mentions of sayings, expresses this poet's deep loyalty and love for the Master and indicates the vast horizon of his brilliant thought, the depth and breadth of his vision, and the spiritual growth and perfection of Rumi. This writing explains Rumi's perspective regarding the Commander of the Faithful and represents aspects of that Imam's words that appear explicitly or through allusion and reference in the Masnavi, which has become the reason for the immortality of this poet's lofty thoughts.
