چکیده:
is nominal and time series (precipitation fluctuations and ENSO). The results of this study indicate the existence of a relationship between the ENSO phenomenon and precipitation anomalies and the occurrence of autumn drought in East Azerbaijan province. In this research, using data related to various indices of the large-scale atmospheric-oceanic circulation pattern 'El Niño-Southern Oscillation' or 'ENSO' (sea level pressure fluctuations for the Southern Oscillation Index and sea surface temperature indices for Niño 1, Niño +1, Niño 3, and Niño 4 indices) and monthly precipitation statistics of East Azerbaijan, the relationship between precipitation anomalies and the occurrence of droughts during the autumn time period has been investigated. The main method used in this research is the 'Pearson' correlation method, asynchronous correlation analysis, linear regression, and polynomial.

Study of the relationship between autumn precipitation fluctuations in East Azerbaijan and the large-scale El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) atmospheric-oceanic circulation pattern Majid Zahedi 1 Yousef Ghavidel Rahimi 2 Abstract In this research, using data related to various indices of the large-scale atmospheric-oceanic circulation pattern "El Nino-Southern Oscillation" or "ENSO 3" (sea level pressure fluctuations for the Southern Oscillation Index and sea surface temperature indices for Nino 1, Nino 2+1, Nino 3, and Nino 4 indices) and monthly precipitation statistics of East Azerbaijan, the relationship between precipitation anomalies and the occurrence of droughts during the autumn period has been investigated.
Nazem al-Sadat and Ghasemi (2004), based on the negative correlation coefficients they calculated between the SOI index and autumn precipitation in different regions of Iran, have concluded that in Iran, especially in the southeastern regions, the occurrence of El Nino (warm phase) is often associated with increased precipitation, while the occurrence of the La Nina phenomenon is often associated with droughts.
This research attempts to use the method of synoptic quantification in the form of statistical methods to investigate the existence of synchronous and asynchronous relationships between precipitation fluctuations and autumn droughts of the stations in East Azerbaijan province with the various patterns of the ENSO phenomenon, which is a persistent pattern of variability in general atmospheric circulation on a global scale.
