چکیده:
Sheikh Sa'd al-Din Mahmud Shabistari was one of the Sufi masters of the second half of the seventh and eighth centuries AH, and the author of works such as Gulshan-e Raz, Sa'adat-nameh, Haqq al-Yaqin fi Ma'rifat Rabb al-'Alamin, and Mir'at al-Muhaqqiqin. His Gulshan-e Raz is his most important and famous work, upon which numerous commentaries have been written. One of Shabistari's treatises, which has also been mistakenly read as Shahid or Shahid-nameh, is the Risala-ye Mushahada, of which no manuscript is available, and Shabistari only mentions it at the end of the fifth chapter of the Risala-ye Haqq al-Yaqin. In the existing versions of Hadiqat al-Ma'arif (the commentary of Shuja al-Din Karbalai on Gulshan-e Raz) and also in the oldest versions of Haqq al-Yaqin, the name of this treatise is mentioned as Mushahada, which is its most correct form, and this article seeks to prove this very fact.

"8 All in all, in the opinion of the author, despite the fact that the treatise in question has disappeared and we have no conclusive evidence to definitely call the said treatise Shahid or Shahidnameh; given the aforementioned clues, we can refer to Sheikh Mahmoud Shabestari's lost treatise as Mashahid until a copy of it is found.
5. Mashahid: which has also been mistakenly called Shahid or Shahidnameh, was a treatise that the Sheikh had probably compiled "on beauty, love, and its stages," and only its name has remained, as mentioned, which is cited at the end of the fifth chapter of the treatise Haqq al-Yaqin.
In all three existing copies, the commentary Hadiqat al-Ma'arif by Shuja al-Din Karbali2 on Gulshan-e Raz is mentioned: "Among the Sheikh's treatises, those that have reached the study of this poor servant are Haqq al-Yaqin; and therein he referred the investigation of beauty and love to another treatise known as Mashahid," which implies that in the version of Haqq al-Yaqin that reached Karbali's study, the name of the treatise was Mashahid, not Shahid or Shahidnameh.
