چکیده:
The book Sharaf al-Nabi, authored by Hafiz Abu Sa'd Khargushi, is one of the most important works written on the biography (Sira) of the Prophet (PBUH) and contains numerous narrations regarding the virtues (Manaqib) of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them); due to its credibility and importance, it was translated into Persian in the sixth century, and this translation is considered one of the most valuable Persian prose texts. Furthermore, great Shia scholars have made extensive use of this book in writing biographies, mentioning the superiority of the Ahl al-Bayt, and arguing for the truth of Shiism. In this article—while referring to what they have written in his praise—nearly forty instances of quotations from Ibn Shahr Ashub, Allamah Majlisi, and others from the aforementioned book are presented. Finally, an explanation is provided stating that the existence of some flawed narrations in this book—the likes of which can even be found in the most reliable Shia books—should not prevent its dissemination.
