The present article has been written for the purpose of etymology and presenting the meaning of the word "Kerman" using documentary and library methods. After stating the meanings suggested by researchers regarding the word Kerman, the author has examined the identifiers of this city and then recounted the legends and myths related to Kerman to clarify the context for understanding the meaning and the reason for naming this land Kerman. Then, based on the structure of the word, the author has examined other derivatives made from the root "Kar", which is the foundation and basis of the word Kerman, and finally, has suggested the meaning "land of weaving and weaving" for Kerman.
