A group has erred in determining the goal of the prophets and has imagined that the purpose of the mission of the divine ambassadors is only to familiarize people with the origin, the return, and the attributes of the God of the universe and the like these are; whereas this part is only one of their programs and goals, and heavenly leaders have been raised to familiarize people with metaphysical issues, as well as with an extensive program for demonstrating the way of life and reviving human virtues and moral qualities, and showing individual and social interests and corruptions. The reason why they have been sent to realize a great and extensive goal is that the inadequacy and shortcoming of human knowledge is not limited to God-knowledge, His attributes, and the like, such that humanity would be in no need of the guidance and direction of prophets in other aspects of life; rather, the scope of its ignorance and lack of information has extended to many moral, social, and economic issues, and its various thoughts and opinions on these subjects are signs of the inadequacy of its science and knowledge.
