چکیده:
This writing is a critical نظر on the scientific interpretation that examines Tantawi Jawhari's interpretive perspectives in the commentary book 'Al-Jawahir fi Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karim'. Given the various interpretations of scientific exegesis throughout history in the Islamic world, the Al-Jawahir commentary has been studied. After presenting an introduction, which includes a brief mention of the various interpretations of scientific exegesis, I have provided a short explanation introducing Tantawi and his commentary book, which I will refer to briefly as 'Al-Jawahir'. Then, while explaining his interpretive method, I have provided examples of verses in which Tantawi has used modern science in their interpretation. Finally, I addressed Tantawi's concerns regarding scientific interpretation, and his views have been critically evaluated. These concerns include: overcoming the scientific backwardness of Muslims and their dependence on the West, discovering aspects of the miracles of the Qur'an, and resolving conflicts between the Qur'an and modern sciences.

Keywords: Tantawi Jawhari, Al-Jawahir fi Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karim, scientific exegesis, conflict between science and religion, positivist exegesis, the miracle of the Quran Introduction This title serves as a pretext for explaining one of the methods that has been used in the interpretation of the Holy Quran from the past to the present, which is known as scientific exegesis.
2 However, most interpretations were for the purpose of extracting sciences from the Quran; for example, Imam Muhammad al-Ghazali in the book Jawahir al-Qur'an and Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti in al-Itqan fi Ulum al-Qur'an and also in "Al-Iklil fi Istinbat al-Tanzil," after proving through reference to certain Quranic verses that all sciences exist in the Quran, attempt to extract all the sciences of their time from the Quran.
About Tantawi and the book "Al-Jawahir fi Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karim" Although Al-Jawahir is not the first book to speak about scientific exegesis, it can be decisively claimed that it is the first complete exegesis that has approached the understanding and interpretation of the Quran using methods common in empirical sciences and with a positivistic perspective.
81 Muhammad Husayn al-Dhahabi, one of the famous professors of Al-Azhar and author of the renowned book "Al-Tafsir wa al-Mufassirun," after explaining Tantawi's interpretive method and providing examples of his exegesis, says: "This book, as you can see, is a scientific encyclopedia that has a significant share in the scientific explanation of sciences, but in terms of exegesis, it should be described like the exegesis of Imam Fakhr al-Razi, about which it has been said, 'In it, everything is present except exegesis'; however, the exegesis of Al-Jawahir is more worthy of this description than the exegesis of Imam Fakhr.
