چکیده:
Regarding the beginning of prophethood and how the Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), there are various viewpoints: 1- The beginning of prophethood and the revelation of the Quran is in the month of Ramadan. 2- The beginning of prophethood was not with the revelation of the Quranic revelation. 3- The beginning of prophethood and the revelation of several verses occurred in the month of Rajab, but this revelation does not mean the revelation of the entire Quran. 4- The Prophet had two missions: one in the month of Rajab without Quranic revelation, and the other accompanied by public invitation and the revelation of the Quran in the month of Ramadan. 5- The Quran had two types of revelation: sudden and gradual. The sudden revelation was on Laylat al-Qadr, and the gradual revelation began with the start of the mission in the month of Rajab. 6- The Quran only had a gradual revelation, and the beginning of prophethood was either in the month of Ramadan with the revelation of verses or in the month of Rajab without Quranic revelation. This writing first analyzes and examines the aforementioned viewpoints along with their reasons, then selects the latter viewpoint, and while doing so, also mentions some rare theories regarding the revelation of the Quran and the beginning of prophethood.

Reasons for the First View Believers in this view rely on narrations from the Pure Imams (peace be upon them) and the words of historians that in the following, rely: 1 - Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him) says: «کان ابتداء الوحی الی رسول اللّه یوم الاثنین لسبع عشرة خلّت من رمضان»1 "The beginning of revelation to the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family) was on Monday, the seventeenth of the month of Ramadan.
Reasons for the Fifth View Scholars who believe in the sudden and gradual revelation of the Quran form two groups: The first group: Scholars who, based on a narration or narrations, have come to the belief that the entire Quran was initially revealed to Bait al-Ma'mur (in the fourth heaven), and then, according to temporal requirements, was revealed to the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his family) in the form of verses and Surahs.
The second group: Scholars who have cast doubt on the report of the initial revelation of the Quran to Bait al-Ma'mur, both because it is a solitary report (khabar wahid) and because of its incorrectness, declaring it unacceptable; instead, through Quranic evidences, they have come to the belief that the Quran, or the light and truth of the Quran, was first entirely revealed to the noble heart of the Prophet of Islam; then, over twenty-three years, based on the necessities of the prophetic society and the divine command, it flowed from the heart of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family) through his tongue and became known to the people.
