چکیده:
The general objective of the present research is to investigate the factors affecting the use of information technology by the faculty members of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Tehran. This research was conducted using a survey method and is of a descriptive-correlational type. The study population consisted of 200 people. In order to collect information, an online questionnaire was designed and sent to the email addresses of all respondents. To determine the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, experts and Cronbach's alpha coefficient were used, respectively. The results show that age, work experience, thesis supervision, skill in using computers and the internet, English language proficiency, number of scientific works, and individuals' attitude toward information technology have a significant relationship with the use of information technology. Stepwise regression analysis results showed that skill in using computers, individuals' attitude toward information technology, skill in using the internet, and age explain 63.5 percent of the changes in the dependent variable.
خلاصه ماشینی:
Table 3- Frequency distribution of respondents in terms of English language skill (Refer to the page image) The impact of environmental, technical, and economic factors on the use of information technology: The obtained statistics show that almost all factors have great importance in the use of information technology by faculty members, and especially favorable environmental conditions in terms of light, temperature, silence in the environment, and internet speed are among the most important items (Table 4).
Table 7- Comparison of various academic fields in the level of information technology use (Refer to the page image) Determining the factors affecting the use of information technology by faculty members using multiple regression analysis: Stepwise regression was used to examine the impact of variables independent under study on the dependent variable (level of information technology use) was used: First step: In the first step, the variable of skill level in using computers was entered into the equation.
The results of the correlation analysis show that age, work experience, skill in using computers, skill in using the internet, English language proficiency, environmental factors, economic factors, technical factors, attitudinal factors, and the number of scientific works have a significant relationship with the use of information technology by the faculty members of the campus, which is consistent with studies conducted in this field; therefore, attention to these factors is necessary for the employment of information technology by the faculty members of the campus.
