Evaluation of periodical journals based on objective and subjective methods and criteria in their collection is of great importance. The present study, by combining these two methods, aims to determine the extent of use of journals and the degree of importance of each journal from the perspective of faculty members at Kerman University of Medical Sciences. Information obtained through labeling the frequency of use of each journal issue and also questionnaires from faculty members shows that out of a total of 399 titles and 3871 issues, 31.5 percent of titles and 36.3 percent of issues were used, and overall, each journal issue was used an average of 48 percent of the time per year. Additionally, from the perspective of faculty members, 1.3 percent of titles were identified as unimportant and 53.1 percent as the most important titles. In four groups—dentistry, nursing, endocrinology, and surgery—there was a significant difference between the use of journals and their degree of importance.
