چکیده:
After the Islamic Revolution, part of the duty to strengthen religious teachings, promote revolutionary values, counter Western cultural influence, and align with the goals of the society's political system was assigned to the university. Cultural policymaking in the country's universities, as part of the ideological apparatus and within the framework of state discourse, has become a tool for strengthening the values and ideals of the Islamic Republic of Iran system. This study provides a description of the ratio between such expectations and existing realities. Relying on the documentary study method, the prominent aspects of cultural ideals, especially the section intended by policymakers—namely the conduct and character of students—were first described, and then through a systematic review of national surveys, aspects of the reality of students' thoughts and behaviors were analyzed. The findings showed that there is a significant gap between cultural ideals and the reality of students' attitudes and tendencies. This situation may be due to the inefficiency of policies or deficiencies in their implementation, or it may be related to ignoring the impact of institutional performance and the structural conditions of society on the cultural attitudes and behavior of youth, and disregard for their social living coordinates in today's world. In any case, it is necessary to rethink the cultural expectations from the university and the student within a more realistic framework.
