چکیده:
The aim of the present research was to understand and explain the factors and competencies affecting the performance of university educational groups in a networked society, which was conducted with an interdisciplinary approach in the fields of educational management and communication sciences. The research method was qualitative and of the case study type. Managers of educational groups at Allameh Tabataba'i University in Tehran were the field of this study for data collection. Purposive and snowball sampling methods were used in sample selection, and necessary data were collected through in-depth and semi-structured interviews with 10 group managers. Data were analyzed through open and axial coding, which in total identified 5 themes including leadership skills, information literacy, media literacy, digital intelligence, and factors related to university strategies and existing socio-cultural contexts in higher education, regarding the competencies and factors required to improve the quality of management and the performance of educational groups in the information society. The presence and effective performance of scientific elites and academic members in mediatized educational environments has created a necessity for leaders of educational institutions to pay attention to and provide the necessary groundwork for acquiring competencies related to the present era. Therefore, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of educational groups, future studies and support programs by officials of academic institutions will be effective, and the findings of this research can serve as a basis for developing future higher education programs in this field.
