Importance: Explaining the role of virtual space in the structural transformation of the modern state, in addition to creating more accurate and complete awareness regarding the political imperatives of the present era, is of theoretical and practical importance for adopting a correct governance pattern suitable for the requirements of the time.
While some researchers interpret virtual space as the pinnacle of privatization and depoliticization, others consider it a factor in the expansion of the public sphere, the increase of political awareness among the general public, and the democratization of the state; however, despite various and contradictory definitions and approaches, most experts collectively regard the internet as an epoch-making technological invention.
Analysis Model Based on the critical approach, virtual platforms and digital social networks are not neutral tools at the disposal of users that they can use at their whim for monetization, information gathering, communication, or leisure; rather, these platforms shape the identity of their users and exert a decisive influence on their thoughts and lifestyles; however, subjective changes and the transformation of the public perceptual system have political effects and are essentially agents of change for the institution of the state.
