چکیده:
Economists use human capital in their models as a black box, without regard to its content, which lacks the necessary importance and effectiveness for policymaking regarding learning development and the employment of higher education graduates. The aim of this study was to open this black box and conduct a theoretical and empirical analysis of its content. Therefore, first, the concept of human capital was redefined, then its content was identified, and the relationships between its components were theoretically analyzed; subsequently, the conceptual framework resulting from this process was used for the statistical analysis of the human capital content of Persian literature graduates. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire from a sample of 100 graduates of the aforementioned field. The data were analyzed using the partial structural equation modeling method. The findings of the theoretical analyses indicate that individual human capital is a complex ecosystem consisting of medical health, skill in mental processes, minimum psychological capacities, and intellectual abilities that, through dynamic interaction with each other, bring about professional and skillful behavior and performance. The development of individuals' human capital means activating and developing the human capital ecosystem within them. Statistical analysis of the human capital content of Persian literature graduates showed that the human capital of these individuals does not structurally fit the conceptual framework, and improving learning skills and increasing specialized knowledge stock affects the operational skills of graduates in this field; other cognitive and metacognitive processes and abilities do not significantly contribute to each other or improve the operational abilities of the graduates. To develop human capital in students, merely providing them with information and knowledge is not sufficient; universities must activate and develop the human capital ecosystem within them. Statistical analyses show that Persian literature departments and faculties in Iran have not been able to activate the human capital ecosystem in their graduates or develop their human capital.
