To date, significant studies and research have been conducted regarding Turkey, and researchers have endeavored to better understand this neighboring country and the bridge between Eastern and Western cultures and civilizations; however, no research has been conducted on the status of Turkology studies in Iran. In this article, we attempted to examine the status of these studies in four prestigious universities (Imam Sadiq (AS), Shahid Beheshti, Tehran, and Allameh Tabataba'i) and provide a comprehensive resource for scholars; therefore, the existing literature in this field was reviewed so that, through this way, a complete roadmap could be drawn and the strengths and weaknesses of these studies, as well as the research gaps that need to be addressed by researchers in this field, could be highlighted; of course, we refrained from mentioning all topics raised in the field of Turkology and only considered those topics that we felt were of greater importance. Non-theoretical analyses in Turkology studies were more frequent than theoretical analyses, and approximately forty-three percent of all research had a comparative aspect. Also, citing the research findings, forty-six percent of theses had practical solutions, and of all research conducted in the field of Turkey, forty-four percent belonged to non-political science disciplines. Among various theories, convergence theory with application was considered the most widely used theory in nineteen percent of the theses, and thirteen topics received the most interest from scholars.
