چکیده:
Social discipline — meaning the cooperation and coordination of individuals in a society with one another to achieve common goals — is considered today one of the most important tools for measuring the level of growth of collective rationality, civility, and social development of a society. Religion, whether in the realm of legislation and law enforcement or in the realm of education and training, has well-prepared its followers to accept the responsibilities of social life and especially disciplined behaviors that are in harmony with other members of society. Because Islam, as the creator of one of the greatest human civilizations, has invited its followers to establish a unified nation around the axis of Tawhid (monotheism), and to achieve this goal, in all its teachings, especially in the field of social ethics, it has emphasized elements such as justice, cooperation, brotherhood, forgiveness, faithfulness to promises, truthfulness, trustworthiness, etc., which lead to the integration of society and increase the sense of shared responsibility and collective cooperation.

Religion and its Social Functions Throughout the history of human life, "religion" in general, and great divine religions in particular, has had profound effects on individual and collective behaviors, although the scope of these effects has not been uniform in the past and present, nor across all peoples.
Most sociological theorists, even those who do not believe in religion as a sacred and heavenly matter, emphasize the role of religious teachings, especially in the field of social ethics, in socialization and promoting the spirit of community among individuals in society.
The Relationship between the Religion of Islam and Islamic Ethics To understand the type of relationship between the religion of Islam and Islamic ethics, it is necessary first to refer to the definitions of ethics provided by Islamic philosophers and sages: From the words of Ibn Miskawayh regarding the purpose and benefit of the science of ethics, his intended definition can be inferred; he says: The science of ethics is the knowledge of morality and virtues that causes all human actions to be beautiful, while at the same time being issued from him easily and effortlessly (Ibn Miskawayh, 1348: 1, 37).
The mechanisms of Islam for maintaining social order are also based on both internal and external factors, because Islam, given the wide scope of its rulings, including moral, devotional, legal, and penal rulings, has taken into account all the forces that preserve the unity and cohesion of the Ummah and the Islamic society.
