Mulla Salih Mazandarani is a famous scholar of the eleventh century. Mulla Salih Mazandarani's commentary on Al-Kafi is one of the best commentaries of this book and has been written on its two sections, Usul and Rawdah. In this article, based on Mulla Salih's commentary on Al-Kafi, his method in explaining the hadiths is described, and then the methodological critique of Allamah Sha'rani regarding some of this commentator's views is presented. Mulla Salih Mazandarani's method in explaining the hadiths of Al-Kafi consists of: examining the chain of narration (sanad), explanation, and interpretation of the text. Also, his method in explaining the text consists of: etymology and semantics, citing Quranic verses, citing other narrations, and proving the content of the hadith.
