(11) Other Writings Against Sufism *Al-Siham al-Mariqa fi Aghrad al-Zanadiqa Among the anti-Sufi treatises by Shiite scholars, one is Al-Siham al-Mariqa fi Aghrad al-Zanadiqa, by Ali ibn Hamad ibn Hasan ibn Zayn al-Din (number 1576 in the Ayatollah Najafi Library).
*Another writing by Muhammad Tahir Qomi under the title "Muhibban Allah" was composed in the name of Shah Suleiman and has extensively criticized the Sufis; a copy of it has been identified in the Ayatollah Najafi Library catalog, Vol. 7, p.
(21) Mirza Muhammad Ali Kashmiri also, by referring to Mulla Muhammad Tahir's book and the response of Mulla Muhammad Taqi Majlisi, has expressed doubt about the authenticity of the attribution and written: It is not unlikely that someone from the Sufis of that time wrote the answer to the aforementioned treatise and attributed it to the Akhund (may God have mercy on him) so that his words would be considered authoritative; in reality, the late Akhund's reputation was pure from the filth of such corrupt sayings.
The author names himself in the introduction as Mutahhar ibn Muhammad al-Miqdadi and states that 'A volume came to the hands of one of the friends, and after investigation, it was discovered that one of the Shiite scholars had authored a treatise in condemnation of this sect, and Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Taqi Majlisi wrote marginalia on it and sent it to the author of the aforementioned treatise; the latter wrote a few lines in response to him, and one of the poor people placed the whole thing in order within the text of the said book, naming it Tawdih al-Mashrabin wa Tanqih al-Madhhabin.
