چکیده:
In this writing, first, religious texts related to the issue of interpretation by opinion (Tafsir bi al-Ra'y) and its condemnation were searched for in Shia and Sunni sources and Quranic verses, and then the opinions of Islamic scholars regarding this concept were examined. Finally, the identification of interpretation by opinion was carried out using the contents of narrations and linguistic and historical clues, resulting in the conclusion that what is meant by 'interpretation by opinion' in the narrative culture is a condemned method in explaining and expressing divine verses. Regarding the existence of interpretation by opinion in narrations, it was evaluated from four perspectives: interpretation by opinion in terms of source, purpose, subject, or mode of expression, and we found that interpretation by opinion should be considered a general concept related to the condemned method of understanding and interpreting the Quran; whether it is in terms of an invalid source and basis, or in terms of an improper purpose, which this meaning applies to all types of current verses and can also include speculative and probabilistic statements.
