"عربی فصیح بودن برای عرب عصر پیامبر اسلام نیز امری واضح و مسلم بوده است؛لذا خداوند با استناد به عربی مبین بودن قرآن، شبههای را که مشرکان مطرح کرده بودند -بدین قرار که این قرآن را بردهای رومی به پیامبر میآموزد-در آیهء 103 سوره نحل،این چنین باطل ساخته است:«و لقد نعلم انهم یعلمه بشر لسان الذی یلحدون الیه اعجمی و هذا لسان عربی مبین؛میدانیم که آنان میگویند:بشری او را قرآن میآموزد.
آیا بهره گیری قرآن از این الفاظ و تعابیر،به معنای راه یافتن باطل در آن است؟در این صورت با آیهء«لا یأتیه الباطل من بین یدیه و لا من خلفه»2چطور سازگار است؟ اهمیت پرداختن به این شبهات در این است که علاوه بر پاسخ یابی برای آنها،روش تفسیر پارهای از آیات دشوار آن-که ادعا شده طی آنها با عقاید باطل عرب مماشات به عمل آمده-روشن میشود.
7 پاسخ شبههای که شرح آن آمد چنین است که مبین و فصیح بودن قرآن مانند هر کلام فصیح دیگر مستلزم این نیست که همهء مقاصد و الفاظ آن را همه کسانی که بدان کلام تکلم میکنند بفهمند؛چون در هر کلام فصیحی بسا ممکن است پارهای لطایف و ظرایف به کار رفته باشد که فهم آن نیازمند تدبیر باشد و فقط افراد باریک بین و ظریف اندیش بتوانند آنها را درک کنند.
لفظ غریب در اینجا آن است که در تفسیر،زیبا و شگفت تلقی میشود؛به گونهای که در دانستن آن علما و سایر مردم یکسان نیستند»8 چنانکه در سخن رافعی آمد،استعمال الفاظ شاذ و مهجور در قرآن،مردود و غیر قابل اثبات است،اما بیتردید در قرآن،الفاظ مشترک بسیاری به کار رفته است،ولی هیچ یک بدون قرینه استعمال نشدهاند تا غریب به معنای مصطلح در علم بلاغت بر آنها صادق باشد."
