بنابراین خواننده انگلیسی زبان دو بار و به طور مضاعف از چیزی که لورکا از تسلسل خود در نیویورک آنرا«شعر تلخزنده»مینامید دور میافتد متن کتاب لورکا که به دشواری شهرت یافته، به نظر من هرگز نه آتشین مینمود و نه پیوسته و مرتبط و این امر در ترجمههای کامل و معدودی که قبلا به عمل آمده بهتر به چشم میخورد، ترجمههایی مفید و تحسین برانگیز ولی متعلق به گذشته و عاری از قدرت محاورهای شعر، مثل متن ترجمه همفریز و نسخه چاپی که بن بلیت)Ben Belitt(در سال 1955 از شعرهای وی برای انتشار آماده ساخت."
