This study aims at examining the effects of using a training program based
on TRIZ Theory on the development of mathematical thinking and critical
thinking of ninth graders in UNRWA Schools. The sample of the study con
sisted of 51 female students, representing the experimental group that was
exposed to the training program, and the control group that was subjected
to teaching, using the traditional method. After completing the program, a
mathematical thinking test and a critical thinking test were applied; AN
COVA was used to answer the study questions.
The study results revealed that there were statistically significant differenc
es at the significant level (α=0.05) on the mathematical thinking test and
the critical thinking test between the two groups in favor of the experimen
tal group. In addition, there were statistically significant differences due to
the achievement level in favor of the experimental group, in comparison
with the control group, on the mathematical thinking test and the critical
thinking test, in the three levels of achievement: high, average, and low.
The study recommended applying TRIZ theory in teaching mathematics.
