In the third millennium, the role and importance of the financial system and the money and capital markets as a tool for economic growth and development of countries is quite evident; So that sustainable economic development is practically impossible without the growth and development of financial markets. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the effect of factors affecting the development of these markets. In this regard, this study examines the impact of macroeconomic indicators (tax revenues, inflation rate, institutional factors and human capital) on the performance of financial markets (value of trading shares and banking facilities) in 26 developed countries during the period 2006 to 2019 is covered using the Markov Switching econometric technique. The results of estimating the models showed that during the boom and bust, the variables related to tax revenue, institutional factors and human capital have a positive effect and the variable of inflation rate has a negative effect on the performance of financial markets. Therefore, strengthening and expanding macroeconomic indicators, depending on the periods of prosperity and recession in developed societies, can play a significant role in improving the performance of financial markets
