چکیده:
برخی از تحولات عصر صفویه از جمله درگیریها سیاسی و نظامی شاهان صفوی با عثمانی و همچنین وجود دشمن مشترک ,اروپا را به ایران نزدیک کرد و به دنبال آن، ورود جهانگردان درقالب نمایندگان و مأمورین سیاسی به ایران آمدند که برخی از آنان در سفرهای خود بسیاری از آداب و رسوم ، باورها ، واعتقادات دینی و مذهبی ایرانیان را در قالب سفرنامه های خود به رشته تحریر درآوردند که از منظر تاریخی منابع مهمی برای پژوهش های علمی در این خصوص محسوب می گردند.این پژوهش در پی پاسخ دادن به این سوال است که باورها، اعتقادات و آداب و رسوم شیعیان در سفرنامه های عصر صفویه چگونه بوده است ؟ نتایج حاصل این پژوهش نشان می دهد یکی از نمادهای زبانی و از شاخصه های شیعه و رمز تشیع اذان شیعی، است که در ابن دوره به شارع و پرچم شعیان تبدیل شدکه در دورۀ صفوی تعصب مذهبی به مذهب شیعه و ضدیت با اهل سنت و مذاهب سنی رواج زیادی داشت وعلمای شیعی از اقتدار و نفوذ زیادی برخودار بودند شیعیان ایران بر این پندار بودند که فرمان شاه مافوق امور طبیعى است، و سلطنت پادشاهان صفوی بر مردمان حق خواسته پیامبران و جانشینان و نایبان بالفصل آنان است. اعتقاد به جبرگرایی از ویژگی های بارز مردم در عصر صفویه بوده است و شیعیان در این دوره همه اتقاقات زندگی خود را به مشیت الهی ربط می دادند .
