Although Islam does not sentence all the verdicts of mosques on temples, in many cases the temples of people of the book is respected as mosques and Muslim praying in mosques is acceptable. The Quran recommendation on honors and rituals of God including the temples of people of the book is due to hadiths and the shrines of the prophets and Imams are also included. There are some evidences showing that Islam respects the beliefs of the people of the book to their temples; cases like using these temples as places for swearing and dispensing temporary marriage of a Muslim man and Christian woman whose previous divorce is taken in the court not the church. According to Quran verses, mosque is used in two general and specific meaning and its general meaning includes the temples of the people of the book. The specific meaning of the mosque is the same common sense known to the Muslims.
