چکیده:
the aim of this study was to identify the causal conditions; categories and concepts of the success of iranian table tennis in international events. the research method was qualitative and based on grounded theory. data were collected using semi-structured interviews. the statistical population of the study consisted of 23 experts and key specialists in three domains: academic, executive, and sports. the sampling method was non-probabilistic and purposive. for data analysis, open, axial, and selective coding were used. in this research, identifying the causal conditions and concepts of the international success of iranian table tennis (the axial phenomenon of this study) in international events. the results led to the identification of 50 concepts and 5 categories. based on the findings, the causal conditions included players, coaches, competitions, equipment-facilities and parents. therefore, it is recommended that the identified conditions be given greater attention by stakeholders to enhance the success of iranian table tennis in international events.

Ortega (2014), in another study, found that the four main elements of the comprehensive training program provided by the best coaches, a strong social support network, a comprehensive sports science program, and meticulous preparation of the foundation for Singaporean women's table tennis success in Olympic Games and World Cups were formed.
In this research, the identification of conditional circumstances, categories, and concepts, and the causes of international success of Iranian table tennis (the central phenomenon of this study) in international events is the goal.
The results of the present research showed that "player" is one of the categories of antecedent conditions for the success of Iranian table tennis in international events.
, 2018); thus, the findings of the present research based on the role of the aforementioned psycho-cognitive factors in the success of Iranian table tennis players in international events seem reasonable.

Another result of this research indicates that "equipment and facilities" is another category of causal conditions for 2 the success of Iranian table tennis in international events.
Therefore, the finding of the present research based on the role of the concept of equipment and facilities in the success of Iranian table tennis in international events seems reasonable.
