چکیده:
In this study, 14 children and adolescents from Rudbar who lost their parents during the earthquake were studied. Six hypotheses in this study were all focused on the impact of parental loss on increasing the likelihood of psychological disorders in children. Therefore, it was predicted that depression, anxiety, aggression, irritability, academic failure, hopelessness, and social isolation would be more prevalent among orphaned children compared to children with parents. According to the results obtained, these hypotheses were rejected. However, rejecting the hypotheses did not mean that there were no psychological consequences among the individuals studied. Rather, it meant that children in Rudbar with parents were also afflicted with them. In fact, the emergence of such a situation reflects the general susceptibility to the unfavorable conditions of the earthquake, which left no room for a measurable and significant effect of important variables such as parental loss, at least in the short term.

(*)-This article is based on the final report of the study on the psychological-social issues and problems of orphaned children and adolescents affected by the Rudbar earthquake.
Since any effort to alleviate and soothe the emotional and psychological pain of orphaned children also helps prevent the consequences and potential pathological implications of this situation, the Social Psychology Department of the Institute for Social Studies and Research decided in the winter of 1990 to examine the psychological and social issues of orphaned children in the Rudbar earthquake, to understand the existence and various dimensions of being orphaned, especially the loss of parents, and to propose practical and reasonable ways to solve the problems of orphanhood and reduce its pathological effects.
This article attempts to review this research and include an analysis and explanation of the results obtained from the examination of the psychological and social issues of orphaned children in the Rudbar earthquake.
Although the survey study (1989) included an examination of the status of orphaned children in the research program, given that the situation of this group was influenced by the values and attitudes prevailing in the entire community (the city of Rudbar) and was affected by the social fabric of the city, it was therefore necessary to understand the social fabric and the impact of the earthquake on it, which necessitated attention to the different layers of this social fabric.
Research Hypotheses In order to investigate and understand the psychological and social transformations of earthquake-affected children and adolescents in Rudbar, six hypotheses were considered.
