Ziyarat Ashura has four main chains (paths), three of which reach Imam Mohammad Baqir (as) and another reaches Imam Sadiq (as). Two paths are mentioned in the book Misbah al-Mutahajjid by Sheikh Tusi, and two other paths are narrated in the book Kamil al-Ziyarat by Ibn Qulawayh. If someone can accept the well-known biographical (Rijali) basis regarding the narrators of the hadiths in the book Kamil al-Ziyarat—namely the reliability of all of them—there is no need to investigate or research the authenticity of this Ziyarat, and they will easily accept its issuance from Imam Baqir (as). However, if someone does not accept this basis or, like the author of this writing, considers only the immediate teachers to be subject to this rule, they must engage in scientific study and scrutiny regarding the individual narrators of this Ziyarat. The basis of the ancients in correcting a narration, which emphasizes the certainty of issuance more than the reliability of the narrators, although it lacks much effectiveness today due to the scarcity of evidence and clues, can create confidence regarding Ziyarat Ashura specifically because of its unparalleled fame and its profound and precise epistemological text. In this writing, following the approach of the later scholars and by examining the paths of this Ziyarat, we will conclude that the second chain mentioned in Sheikh Tusi's Misbah for this narration is reliable and unquestionable, both in terms of Sheikh's path to the chain and the chain itself.

The second chain "And Muhammad ibn Isma'il from Salih ibn Uqba from Malik al-Juhani from Abi Ja'far al-Baqir, peace be upon him, who said: Whoever visits al-Husayn, peace be upon him, on the day of Ashura from the month of Muharram until he remains by him weeping, will meet Allah the Exalted on the Day of Resurrection with the reward of two [thousand] thousand hajls, two [thousand] thousand umrahs, and two [thousand] thousand ghazals; and the reward of every hajls, umrahs, and ghazals is like the reward of one who performed Hajj, Umrah, and Jihad with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and with the Rightly Guided Imams, may the blessings of Allah be upon them all.
