Seyyed Amir Mahmoud Anvar is a contemporary bilingual poet in Persian and Arabic from Iran. His brilliant mind and great passion for poetry and literature led him to master prominent Persian and Arabic works from an early age and commit them to his strong memory. His knowledge of famous Arabic and Persian poems, translation and interpretation of the Holy Quran and Islamic teachings, and learning from prominent masters—especially Master Abdullah Anvar and Abdulhamid Badi al-Zamani Kordestani—influenced his mind and language to such an extent that he turned to composing Persian and Arabic poetry during his adolescence. His devotion to the family of the Prophet (PBUH) and the pure Imams (peace be upon them) drew the themes of his poems toward ritualistic poetry, and thus he chose a religious and sectarian discourse for his poems. Among his poems, the praise and eulogy of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions and followers, which are intertwined with mystical themes, are most prominent.

Blessed Quranic verses, Prophetic hadiths, the hadiths of the pure Imams (peace be upon them), and Islamic teachings have been very influential in the structure of Anvar's poetry and his mind and language; brief examples of this found in the poem "Golbang-e Haq" are mentioned here.
